Falling on the last Monday of May each year, Memorial Day honors those who lost their lives while serving in the military. It's a federal holiday that many people get off from work, resulting in a three-day weekend.

These popular two-mile hikes traverse uneven terrain, offering a fresh perspective on familiar trails with unique sights and sounds that emerge in the cool, quiet night. Ort Farms: Strawberry Festival 2024 & Long Valley Day

Where: Ort Farms, 25 Bartley Rd., Long Valley, NJ 07853
What: Head to Ort Farms for Long Valley Day and the 2024 Strawberry Festival. The day will be filled with community spirit and wholesome fun, organized in partnership with Long Valley Hopes. Long Valley Day features a 5k run, live music from "The Dead Flowers" and "Shaky Moon," food trucks, local vendors and beer offerings from Chilton Mill Brewing. You can even pick your own strawberries! Times and pricing can be found online.

Scrap & Craft - Spring Fever

When: Saturday, May 25 - 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
Where: Byram Twp Fire Department, 225 US Highway 206, Andover, NJ 07821
What: All crafters and digital scrapbookers are invited to enjoy a productive day filled with scrapbooking and crafting activities. The event offers both full ($65) and half-day ($50) options, featuring coffee and tea throughout the day, snacks, free Wi-Fi and door prizes, with meals provided depending on the session chosen. Nearby local dining options are available, as lunch is not served.

Live Music: Black Radish

When: Saturday, May 25 - 6:00-9:00 p.m.

What: Catch the vibrant energy of Black Radish, a trio from Sussex County, known for their eclectic mix of rock, reggae, funk, soul and blues through both original songs and covers. Each live performance promises a unique experience with improvisational jams that are sure to get audiences grooving.
