WMC Girls Soccer One Win From Sectional Crown

No. 1 seed will host Somerville Thursday at home.

The West Morris Central Girls Soccer team set goals at the beginning of the 2015 season.

Reaching the pinnacle of team play in New Jersey was one of them, and now the squad is just one win away from doing so.

Central, with its No. 1 seed in the North 2, Group 3 sectional tournament, knocked off No. 4 Cranford earlier this week by a score of 3-2, punching its ticket to the finals against No. 2 Somerville.

The semifinal win came from two goals netted by Emily Leyson and a third from Kate Willsey, who also had an assist. Sophia Pescatore also had an assist.

That game is set to be played Thursday at 2 p.m. at West Morris Central.
