Sports run deep in Long Valley, and West Morris Central High School has long been at the heart of it. It’s no surprise some standout talent once wore the Wolfpack and Highlander uniform. Today we're celebrating five unforgettable athletes from West Morris Central High School who made a name for themselves well beyond the hometown field.
1. Tashiana ‘Tashy’ Bohm - Swimming Champion (Big Ten)
Bohm won three consecutive Big Ten titles in the 200-yard backstroke for Northwestern, setting a school record in the event. She also earned All-Big Ten honors three times and qualified for the NCAA Championships. (Source: NUSports.com)
2. Stefano Montella – Ivy League Linebacker (Brown University)
Stefano Montella helped lead West Morris Central High School’s football team to the regional title in 2021 and the sectional title in 2022, then committed to Brown University as a linebacker, where he continues a successful football career. (Source: brownbears.com)

3. Michael Burton – Super Bowl Champion (Kansas City Chiefs)
After setting 10 school records and being named Morris County Player of the Year, Michael Burton went on to have several successful years in the NFL, earning a Super Bowl ring with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022. (Source: The Paw)
4. Kylene Cochrane – Collegiate Track Star (UPenn)
A standout in track and cross-country at West Morris Central High School, Cochrane won a state title and earned national rankings before continuing her success at the University of Pennsylvania, where she helped set a relay school record and contributed to multiple Ivy League team championships. 5. Marisa DiPaolo – Wrestling Champion (NJSIAA)
Marisa DiPaolo made history as West Morris Central High School’s first female wrestler to medal at the NJSIAA Girls State Wrestling Championship, winning bronze in the 215-pound weight class during her debut season. The Long Valley standout pinned three opponents in just over six minutes, marking the highest finish by any Wolfpack wrestler in nearly 50 years. (Source: Patch)
