Mount Olive police say they found the woman lying on a gas station bathroom floor with a 2-year-old nearby.

MOUNT OLIVE, NJ β€” An Andover woman was charged with child endangerment after being found impaired and laying on a gas station bathroom floor with a toddler in the room, Mount Olive police say.

Rachel L. Lynch, 32, faces several charges stemming from the Nov. 29 incident. Lynch was laying on the floor next to the toilet in the Route 46 Shell gas station bathroom. She looked "visibly impaired," police said.

A 2-year-old girl who was in Lynch's care was also in the bathroom at the time, police said. It's not clear if the two are related.

Police say there were signs Lynch had been using opioids, and they found hypodermic needles in the bathroom garbage can and inside Lynch's car. Lynch was taken to the hospital for an evaluation, and the toddler was given to a family member.

After she was released from the hospital Lynch was charged with child neglect/abuse, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a hypodermic syringe. She was released with an upcoming court date.
