Wreaths Across America In Long Valley Supported By Local Organizations

Nearly 500 wreaths have already been sponsored in Long Valley, which will be placed on the graves of local fallen veterans.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Three Long Valley organizations have pledged their support to the neighborhood’s Wreaths Across America program this year.

On Dec. 13, at noon, a ceremony will be held at St Mark's Church on Spring Lane to honor local veterans who have passed away.

Following the ceremony, members of the American Veterans Association of Washington Township (AVAWT) Post 1776, as well as fellow volunteers, will place wreaths on the graves of Long Valley veterans.

Also sponsoring Long Valley’s ceremony and wreath-layings are the Long Valley Knights of Columbus Council 10419 and Long Valley Remembers.

“Sponsoring a veteran’s wreath is a personal gift of gratitude and remembrance for someone who served this country so that we can be free,” a statement read. “In 2023, over three million sponsored veteran wreaths were placed by volunteers on headstones at 4,225
participating locations worldwide.”

Folks who want to lend a hand can sponsor a wreath online here, and they cost $17. So far, 473 wreaths have been sponsored in Long Valley.

“Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring remembrance wreaths, volunteering on Wreaths Day, or inviting your family and friends to attend with you,” Washington Township officials said.
