10 Maple Ave. Fetches $390K at Auction
A Madison Board of Ed member placed the high bid on former rec building.
A former borough recreation building near the Madison Train Station fetched $390,000 at auction Thursday, with the winning bid placed by Madison Board of Education member Thomas Haralampoudis through a representative.
The minimum bid for the single-family home had been set at $200,000.
There were 17 people who took numbers to participate in the 10 a.m. auction, which was held the courtroom at Hartley Dodge Memorial, and about eight people got involved in the bidding, Borough Clerk Elizabeth Osbourne said.

The property, 10 Maple Ave., is adjacent to a borough parking lot and across the street from Hartley Dodge Memorial.
A resolution accepting the bid is expected to be on the agenda for Monday's Borough Council meeting. The building was rezoned so it can be used as a single-family home instead of a government building.

At closing, the borough will execute a license agreement to let the owner park up to two vehicles in designated spots in the municipal parking lot adjoining the property.
