Looking to get into journalism? Are you a former journalist who would like to get back into the business? Have a love for sports, government, the arts, or community issues? Or do you love them all? Patch is looking for eager reporters, photographers, videographers–and ideally those who can do it all–to help tell the story of Morris and Somerset counties to its residents on a freelance basis.
Patch is a series of hyperlocal news sites that cover towns across the country. If you live in Morris or Somerset, chances are there is a Patch near you. We are looking to build our freelance base with competent, talented individuals who aren't afraid to be multimedia reporters in the ever-changing world of journalism. Some of our previous freelancers have gone on to become local editors within the company.
We are currently looking for those reporters who can report in multiple facets on a variety of subjects, especially sports and government. Those with other interests are encouraged to apply, as well. However, individuals who are versatile are those most desirable and will have the potential to receive the most work.
