Haircuts to Help Cancer Society

Salvatore Minardi Salon and Hair We Are are donating their proceeds Friday to the American Cancer Society in a "Beauty Will Cure" fundraiser.

Two Park Avenue hair salons are donating their proceeds Friday to the American Cancer Society in an annual fundraiser one of the owners started in honor of his late sister, who died of cancer in 2004.

and are participating in "Beauty Will Cure" from 10 a.m. until closing.

This is the fourth year Salvatore Minardi is conducting the fundraiser in honor of his late sister, Mari Minardi Goldberg.

Minardi said he hopes the fundraiser becomes a national event, with salons all over the country donating their proceeds from one day to the American Cancer Society.

 “Beauty and hair are central to making a person feel confident and good about themselves,” Minardi said in a news release announcing the event. “In the fight against cancer, feeling beautiful is half the battle.”

Beauty Will Cure is one of the kick-off events leading up to the American Cancer Society’s Starry Night Gala scheduled for Saturday, May 12, at the Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone.
