Borough Council Adopts Ordinance Opening Door for Civic Center Renovation
The Madison Borough Council adopted an ordinance, which could allow for the renovation of the Madison Civic Center.

The Madison Borough Council recently adopted an ordinance that could allow for the renovation of the Madison Civic Center, according to published reports.
The ordinance could allow for a plan to renovate the civic center, located at 28 Walnut St., into a 10,000 square-foot facility, including up to 40 affordable housing units, according to a report from the Madison Eagle. The Borough Council adopted the ordinance by a vote of 4-0, the report said.
According to the Borough of Madison, the ordinance 35-2015 amends and supplements certain affordable housing provisions of Chapter 195 of the Madison Borough Code entitled “Land Development Ordinance”. Ordinance 35-2015 would require a “20 percent minimum inclusionary affordable housing obligation, in all zoning districts, for all residential projects with fire or more units, and a payment in lieu for any partial units,” the borough said.
