On Wednesday January 14, dozens of Beast Game Season 2 contestants and former Survivor and Squid Games contestants will be at The Ainsworth Midtown to watch the latest episodes of Beast Games Season 2! And yes, we will see the Survivor crossover!!
Doors open at 6, the show starts at 8! Come early to guarantee a seat! There will be many other Reality Star guests in attendance, as well! We will see you soon!

Join Mutual Morris's Climate Change working group at our upcoming book reading and discussion in Madison this month!

The challenges we face can be difficult to even think about. Climate change, war, extreme inequality, economic upheaval, and the dying back of nature together create a planetary emergency of overwhelming proportions.

The book 'Active Hope' (Revised Edition) by Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone shows us how to strengthen our capacity to face this crisis so that we can respond with unexpected resilience and creative power. We are excited to be reading it together this January, learning from it, and figuring out how we will move forward in this world together, keeping each other safe. For this reading, we will meet together three times for discussions, activities, and camaraderie. Hope is most active when it is shared!



The book is divided into three sections, which we will discuss on three separate dates in Madison on Wednesdays, January 14, 21, and 28 from 6:30 to 8pm. Email info@mutualmorris.com to reserve your space in the discussion group. Space is limited! (Also please let us know if you would be interested in a virtual option, as we are considering one for February.)
Buy the book if you can, or let us know if you need a gift copy - we have a limited amount, only available for those who can attend all three discussions. The book can also be found online in e-book formats, and as an audiobook.
The crisis is here, but our better world is waiting, and we have a lot of work to do to take care of each other through this transition. Join our working group today and help us learn and teach!

MINICOURSE (Zoom): ‘Italian Mafia: Origins and Development in Italy” – A 5-week Lecture Series with optional four films

The Friends of the Madison Public Library will offer a Zoom 5-week minicourse, ‘Italian Mafia: Origins and Development in Italy’&nbsp;by Dr. Gloria Pastorino, Professor Emerita, Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU). The minicourse will begin on Tuesday afternoon, January 20, and continue on January 27, February 3, 10 and 17, 2026 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Each lecture is two hours for a total of 10 hours over five weeks. 
The tuition is $95. The minicourses are organized by the all-volunteer Friends of the Madison Public Library, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. All proceeds benefit the Madison Public Library. 
These ZOOM lectures will look at the development of organized crime in Italy from its inception as Cosa nostra in Sicily in the 19th century to the current Sicilian Mafia, Neapolitan Camorra, Calabrian ‘Ndrangheta, and Sacra Corona Unita. We will analyze issues of power, political corruption, governmental connivance (national and international), and gender. 
Although the term, ‘Mafia,’ is used worldwide to define any kind of organized crime, this minicourse will focus on Italy alone.
Prior to each of the last four lectures, an optional film will be available for streaming at home or for viewing at the Madison Public Library, 39 Keep Street, Madison, NJ.
Dr. Gloria Pastorino earned her PhD in Comparative Literature from Harvard University, a MA in English Literature from the University of New Mexico and a MA in Modern Languages from the University Institute of Modern Languages in Milan, Italy.
