Authorities responded to a medical call at the university at 1:31 a.m. Sunday, police report.

MADISON, N.J. – A “highly intoxicated” Drew University student who was trying to decline medical attention ended up in jail after assaulting a police officer, Madison Acting Lt. John Miscia said.
Police responded to the school’s division of public safety after a call regarding Eduardo M. Palmieri, 19, of Guilford, Connecticut, who was allegedly “highly intoxicated” and acting “very belligerent” toward officers at the school, Miscia said.
Madison police officers and an ambulance arrived on scene. When confronted by Madison officers, Palmieri refused to go to the hospital and “began assaulting officers,” Miscia said.
