Firefighters Knock Down Fully Involved Car Fire
BMW caught fire while owner was inside apartment.
The Madison Fire Department was able to knock down a fully involved car fire in ten minutes upon arrival at the Towne Gardens apartments at 17 Madison Ave. on Friday afternoon.
Acting Fire Chief Lou DeRosa said the owner of the BMW parked her car before entering her apartment to do a few things. While she was inside she heard her car's alarm go off. When she came outside, she saw that the car was on fire and the the department was notified.
No one was hurt in the fire, but DeRosa said the car looked as though it was close to totalled.

The car fire was located in the same area of the apartment complex as a small wall fire the department responded to on March 5.
DeRosa said there is no known cause of the car fire at this time and it does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
