Former Secretary of Defense to Speak at Drew University

Leon Panetta will be speaking at Drew University next month.

Former Secretary of Defense and Central Intelligence Agency Directory Leon Panetta will be speaking at Drew University’s forum series next month.

Panetta will be speaking at the university on Thursday, April 30, at 8 p.m. Panetta is expected to discuss a number of topics, including politics, foreign policy, U.S. intelligence, global economic challenges, national security and leadership, according to Drew University.

Panetta’s career included a number of landmark moments, including repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and reversing the ban on women in combat while secretary of defense, and running the CIA when Osama bin Laden was killed in 2011, the university said.

Panetta also served as the 29th Director of the Office of Management and Budget under President Bill Clinton, was a professor of public policy at Santa Clara University and served in the United States Army.
