Hearing Scheduled for Defendants in Alleged Assault
Three Madison men due in court next month.

The three borough men in connection with an altercation that left three other borough men with serious injuries are due to appear in Superior Court in Morristown for a hearing next month, according to the court.
An early disposition conference is scheduled for July 17. At such conferences, the prosecutor's office could try to resolve the case through plea agreements, or the case may be sent to a grand jury.

The incident occurred a few days before, around 1:40 a.m. on May 20, near the Cook Plaza parking lot, authorities have said. The three injured men, two 24 years old and one 23, were taken to Morristown Medical Center after authorities responded to a report of a fight, police said.
According to complaints signed by a Madison police detective, two of the three alleged victims , including one who suffered a fractured skull and received four stitches, while a third suffered "numerous broken bones in his face" after he was punched and kicked while on the ground. Police have said they don't know what started the altercation.
