Kettle Korn a Tasty Must-Try at Farmers Market

Waverly Place is the place to be on Thursdays.

Americans consume 17.3 billion quarts of popped popcorn each year, accordng to the National Agricultural Library, which works out to about 68 quarts per person.

That number is likely to rise, if Kettle Korn has anything to say about it.

This is the fifth year that Kettle Korn has set up shop at the Madison Farmers Market.

The market is open today from 2 - 7 p.m. on Waverly Place.

They keep returning, according to co-owner Lois Zilai, because "the people are great" and "the people love Kettle Korn".

Sales are primarily made at various New Jersey farmers' markets; the company is based in Brielle.

Sales in Madison are brisk. Lois credits her husband, Ray Zilai, who makes the Korn, while she "only" serves the customers and keeps filling those bags.
