Madison Church: GED Tutors Needed
A church in Madison is putting out the call that GED tutors are needed for adults in Maplewood and Newark
MADISON, NJ—No, the Grace Episcopal Church in Madison isn't starting its own GED program, but it is helping spread the word that the All the Way Up Adult Education Center (ATWU) needs tutors for students in Newark and Maplewood.
All the Way Up is a service-based organization for adult learners in the Newark area. It offers individualized training in GED/HSE Test Preparation, Adult Basic Education, English as a Second Language (ESL), and various job skills.
Volunteer tutors at ATWU help adults prepare for the GED or other standardized exams, learn basic skills, or learn English. Tutors can work in reading, math, social studies, or science and must commit to 2.5 hours of tutoring per week during a 12-week semester. Potential volunteers can get more information on Grace Church's website or by going directly to All the Way Up.
