Madison Dentist Given Craftsman of the Year Award By Local Museum

Dr. Sam Romano, a Madison native, received the award from the Museum of Early Trades for advancing the historic profession to new heights.

Madison native and esteemed dentist Dr. Sam Romano has been named “Craftsman of the Year” by the Museum of Early Trades and Crafts. The Madison museum bestows this award upon local professionals who, as true craftsmen, advance historic crafts while combining professional knowledge and skills to to serve others.

Dr. Romano has been practicing on Park Avenue in Madison for 28 years. His family practice includes restorative, cosmetic, and dental implants. Romano is a proud alum of Madison High School, FDU Madison, and UMDNJ.

“Romano practices an ancient profession that has grown and evolved with advances in medical science and technology, and such links from the past to the present are at the heart of the museum’s mission to enhance the understanding and appreciation of America’s past,” The Museum of Early Trades and Crafts Board of Trustees stated to the Madison Eagle.
The proud Madisonian continues to advance is education by studying with innovators in the field. He has been recognized as one of New Jersey’s Top Docs for three consecutive years, the Madison Eagle reports.

Dr. Romano is also very passionate about using his talents and experience to help others. He has traveled to Guatemala to provide dental care for children in need, some of whom had never even owned a tooth brush before his visit.
The Museum of Early Trades and Crafts serves more than 7,000 visitors a year. The historic building that houses the museum is located at Green Village Road in Madison.

Dr. Romano received three awards from the Museum on Sunday, Sept. 7: Craftsman of the Year, A Citation from the Sate Legislature by the State Senator, and a Proclamation by the Mayor of Madison.

“You’ll never feel as good as when you do something for somebody else,” Dr. Romano told the Madison Eagle. “The greatest gift is when you have what somebody else needs, and you can give it to them.”
