UPDATE: Madison Democrats Beat Republican Chiarolanza For Open Council Seats
In the race for two open seats on the Borough Council, Democrats Vitale and Landrigan have gained both seats from the lone challenger.

With a total of 68 percent of the vote, democrats Councilwoman Carmela Vitale and Council President Robert Landrigan captured the two open Borough Council seats from Republican challenger Mark Chiarolanza, a Greenwood Ave. resident and member of the Madison Complete Streets Committee.
Councilwoman Vitale had 35.5 percent of the vote and Councilman Landrigan had 33.15 percent of the vote. Voters had to choose two out of the three candidates at the polls today.
The Madison Board of Education election was a very narrow race. The winners of the Madison Board of Education elections are incumbents David Arthur and Shade Grahling running for their third term, and challenger Debra Coen. Thomas Piskula, receiving 23 percent of the vote, was defeated in the election.

Three will battle it out for two open Madison town council seats at tomorrow’s general election.
Republican challenger Mark Chiarolanza, Greenwood Ave. resident and member of the Madison Complete Streets Committee will run against Councilwoman Carmela Vitale and Council President Robert Landrigan, the democratic opposition.
Board of Education elections will also be held tomorrow. Four candidates are running for three open seats. Board of Education incumbents David Arthur and Shade Grahling will face challengers Debra Coen and Thomas Piskula at the polls tomorrow. Arthur and Grahling are each running for a third term in office.
