Madison Borough flags will be flown at half-staff until Sunday, July 10, according to the Presidential Proclamation.

MADISON, NJ — As per Presidential Proclamation, the Borough of Madison ordered that flags remain flown at half-staff through Sunday, July 10, as a mark of respect for the memory of Abe Shinzo, former Prime Minister of Japan after he was assassinated at a campaign event.

Flags are currently flying at half-staff in remembrance of the senseless acts of gun violence perpetrated on our Independence Day, July 4, 2022, in Highland Park Illinois. Flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on Sunday, July 10th in remembrance of Japan’s former Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe.

Abe served Japan as Prime Minister from 2006 to 2007 and again from 2012 to 2020.
