Madison Mayor to Recieve Honorary Degree at Drew University Commencement Ceremony

Drew University will also host the senior vice president of The Princeton Review at the 147th Drew commencement ceremony.

The Madison Borough mayor will be receiving an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Drew University at its 147th commencement ceremony in May.

The commencement ceremony will take place on May 16. Mayor Robert “Bob” Conley served on the Madison Borough Council for two terms before becoming mayor. Conley has been instrumental in maintaining the positive town-and-gown relationship between Madison and Drew University, according to Drew University.

Conley has welcomed incoming first-year students, helped coordinate Drew’s participation in Bottle Hill Day, worked closely with Drew presidents and participated in the Chief Executive Council for Madison, the university said.

The senior vice president and publisher of The Princeton Review will be speaking at the 147th Drew University commencement ceremony later this year.

“It is our great pleasure to award Mayor Conley with this honorary degree at this year’s commencement,” Drew President MaryAnn Baenninger said. “He has been a true partner and friend to the university and the honor is well deserved.”

Additionally, Robert J. Franek, Drew University alumnus and senior vice president and publisher of The Princeton Review, will be the commencement speaker at the 147th commencement ceremony.

In his position as VP and publisher of The Princeton Review, Franek is the lead author of “The Best 379 Colleges”. He is a graduate of Drew University and trustee, who majored in political science and history.

Drew University’s commencement ceremony will take place on May 16 at 10:30 a.m. on the Mead Hall Lawn.
