Madison Police Blotter: 69 Medical Calls, 41 Motor Vehicle Crashes In July

According to the Madison Police Department, there has been 69 Medical calls and 41 Motor Vehicle Crashes that offers have responded to in the month of July. Here’s a look at some of the other incidents reported in town this month:
July 21
- at 8:52 a.m., Ptl. Bart Glab arrested 25 year old Joshua Martinez-Garaicoechea from Plainfield, NJ. Glab conducted a stop for an alleged speeding violation on Rosedale Ave. While speaking with the driver, an odor of marijuana was detected from inside the vehicle. Suspected marijuana was later located in the vehicle. Martinez-Garaicoechea was charged with Possession of Under 50 grams of Marijuana and released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in the Madison Municipal Court.
July 21

- 1:05 a.m., Sgt. Craig Perrelli arrested 40 year old Vincent Carrino of Hawthorne, NJ. Sgt. Perrelli stopped Carrino after observing an alleged speeding violation on Main St. While speaking with Carrino an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected on Carrino’s breath. The sergeant determined Carrino was operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol over the legal limit. While arresting Carrino, suspected marijuana was found in his possession. Carrino was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated in a School Zone, Possession of Under 50 grams of Marijuana and other motor vehicle offenses. Carrino is scheduled to appear in the Madison Municipal Court.
July 22
- at 9:51 p.m., Ptl. Carmine DeCaro arrested 32 year old Anthony Cheek of Madison, NJ. A Morris County Park Police officer stopped Cheek after observing an alleged motor vehicle violation take place on Park Ave. While conducting a license check, a $200.00 warrant was discovered for his arrest. Cheek was able to post bail and released pending an appearance in the Madison Municipal Court.

- at 7:25 p.m., Ptl. Carmine DeCaro arrested 68 year old Andrei Gross of Madison, NJ. DeCaro responded to a Kings Rd business to investigate an unwanted party at the establishment. When the officer arrived he was able to confirm Gross was formally warned not to return to the establishment from a previous incident. Gross was charged with Defiant Trespassing. Gross was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the Madison Municipal Court.
