MADISON, NJ — Madison police have issued a warning to residents about an increase in scam attempts targeting Madison Electric customers.
Scammers are contacting Madison residents via email, notifying them of a "power status final notice" and requesting that residents double-check their information to receive incentives/rebates.
"Utility Billing does not send emails like this, and the electric dividend is automatically applied to all residents who qualify," police said.
