Madison Public Library Hosting NJ Makers Day

Learn about a number of things from stop motion animation to a banana piano at the library's NJ Makers Day event.

The Madison Public Library is hosting a New Jersey Makers Day event on Saturday, March 21.

The event will take place at the Madison Public Library, 39 Keep St., from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on March 21. New Jersey Makers Day is a statewide, single-day event both celebrating and promoting maker culture and the values associated with STEM-based (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) learning.

The event is free and open to children, teens, adults and families. Attendees will learn about stop motion animation, to Scratch coding, to crafting and Makey Makey Music, including a banana piano), according to the Madison Public Library.

“This event is part of a statewide ’NJ Makers Day,’ in which libraries, schools and other maker venues all around the state are hosting a maker event on the same day,” Adult/Teen Programming Coordinator Jill Work said in an email. “The Madison Public Library’s event will be set up with ’stations,’ and visitors can try out anything that interests them, which will include both crafts and technology projects.”

The New Jersey Makers Day event at the Madison Public Library is free to attend and no registration is required.
