Madison Resident Appointed to West Point
Tim Dore one of rare 10 percent of applicants that gain admission.

Madison resident Tim Dore was honored recently by Lieutenant Colonel, Retired John Dilley for being appointed to the United States Military Academy West Point.
Dore just graduated from Oratory Prep in Summit. He was selected for special recognition at the school's baccalaureate dinner and awards ceremony, which recognized the 46 male students who graduated this year.
Dore, who is the son of Janet and Ted Dore, was awarded the Monsignor Fitzpatrick Memorial Scholar-Athlete award for excelling in sports and academics. Additionally, Head of School Bob Costello awarded him the certificate of merit for being the outstanding student in the senior class in foreign language studies of Spanish.

However, the biggest announcement of the night was about West Point.
"Each year, approximately 13,000 young Americans apply to the United States Military Academy. Less than 10 percent are offered admission," Dilley said.

"A West Point cadetship represents a fully-funded scholarship and annual salary, valued at over $333,000," Dilley added. "West Point's four year education and training program will give Timothy Dore the opportunity to develop his leadership potential and prepare him for a lifetime of selfless service to our nation."
