Madison Rotary Donates $43K to Local Organizations
More than 50 local nonprofits and charities received a total of $43,000.

Dozens of local and area nonprofits and charities were the recipients of 2015 grants and scholarships from the Madison Rotary.
The Annual Charitable Distribution Luncheon hosted by the Rotary Club of Madison took place on Thursday, May 7, at Rod’s Steakhouse. More than 50 local and area groups received a total of $43,000 from the Rotary. The funds were acquired through a series of fundraising efforts, including the Taste of Madison, annual 50/50, Bottle Hill Day, Shred-it Day, donation jars and more, according to the Rotary Club of Madison.
The grants were distributed to 53 organizations across a number of different categories. The categories included improving our community; supporting education and youth groups; sponsoring the arts; helping those with special needs; and funding community services.

The following groups or organizations received grants in the aforementioned categories, according to the Rotary Club of Madison:
Improving our community: Madison Christmas Committee, Madison Community Pool, Madison Eagle Christmas Fund, Madison Fire Department, Madison May Day, St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, Madison Environmental Commission, Thursday Morning Club.

Supporting education and youth groups: The Adult School of the Chathams, Madison & Florham Park, American Legion Post #43, Friends of the Madison Public Library, Girl Scouts of Northern NJ, Literacy Volunteers of Morris County, Madison Athletic Foundation, Madison Education Foundation, Madison High School Graduation Gala, Madison Junior School Athletic Organization, Madison Little League, Madison Music Association, Madison Ice Hockey Booster Club, Madison Take Down Club, NORWESCAP, Patriots Path Council Boy Scouts of America, Team Eagle Foundation, Central Avenue School PTO.
Sponsoring the arts: Baroque Orchestra of NJ, Bickford Theatre, Chatham Community Players, Friends of Geraldine, Harmonium Choral Society, Madison Arts and Cultural Alliance, Museum of Early Trades and Crafts, Playwrights Theatre of NJ, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey.
Helping those with special needs: Cheshire Home, ECLC of NJ,
Funding community services: Bridges Outreach, Chabad of Southeast Morris County, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates of Morris and Sussex Counties, Deirdre O’Brien Child Advocacy Center, Halos for Angels, Family Promise, Grace Counseling Center, Interfaith Food Pantry, Madison Area YMCA, Morris Habitat for Humanity, Project Community Pride, Preschool Advantage, Inc., Visiting Nurse Association of Northern NJ, Women’s Center at County College of Morris, Willow Tree Center for Addiction.
In June the Rotary will distribute $5,000 in college scholarships to graduating high school seniors.
