Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Host Pig Roast Fundraiser on Saturday

The pig roast and beer garden will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4 to support Madison EMS, a free service which responds to 1,200 calls a year.

The Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps will be hosting its third annual pig roast and beer garden fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the EMS headquarters, located at 29 Prospect St., in Madison.

The festivites will run from 5 to 10 p.m. The event will be held rain or shine. Proceeds from this event will support the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps. The pig roast will also feature live music and a 50-50 raffle.

Volunteers will be serving up a tasty selection of barbecue favorites including pulled pork, pork barbeque, chicken, side dishes, salads and desserts. Beer, wine and sodas will also be available. Those who wish to consume alcohol must present ID at the door.

Tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door, for those 12 and up, $10 for children 5 to 12-years-old. Admission is free for children under age 5. Tickets can be purchased via Paypal online, or on the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps Facebook page. Tickets can also be purchased over the phone by calling 443-829-8386.

About the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps
This local organization has been serving Madison residents in emergency situations since 1954. According to the Madison EMS website, the Corps has responded to more than 50,000 calls since 1960.

“On average we respond to over 1,200 call annually,” a representative from Madsion EMS stated. “We currently operate three ambulances, and are staffed by EMT volunteers, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days and nights a year to ensure the fastest response possible to the those who depend on us.”

Madison EMS offers emergency medical service to local residents, free of charge. The majority of the EMS’s annual budget comes from funraisers like the pig roast.
