Make Cards Today, Support U.S. Troops Overseas

Whole Foods sponsors event to support armed forces, re-ups with Farmers' Market.

You can show your support for U.S. troops abroad today thanks to Whole Foods.

Visit Cards for the Troops, taking place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., where you can make unique cards for armed forces personnel (to go along with care packages).

co-sponsors the Farmers' Market this summer, and has more activities planned.

Marketing Team Leader Kerry Brumbaugh of the Madison store explained that Whole Foods (in its second year at the Madison Farmers' Market) co-sponsors this Market because it is very important to support the community, to eat and shop locally, and thus support local growers, vendors and artisans.

The retailer also will sponsor Good Will from the Grill on Monday, July 25 from 3 - 7 p.m., where 100 percent of the proceeds from purchases of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, pickles, cookies, and beverages will go to charitable organization City Green.
