MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A New Jersey Transit train struck and killed a man in Morris County on Tuesday afternoon, an agency spokesperson said.

The man, who was hit by the train near the Madison station shortly after 3:30 p.m., has since been identified as a 21-year-old from Flanders, NJ Transit spokesperson Kyalo Mulumba, told Patch.

According to Mulumba, none of the 60 passengers or crew members on board the train at the time were injured as a result.

The train had left New York Penn Station at 2:32 p.m. and was due to arrive in Dover at 4:05 p.m., NJ Transit said.

The incident is still being investigated by the NJ Transit Police as of Wednesday morning.
