Marvel Comics Artist Exhibits Oil Paintings, Digital Art at Madison Library

The Madison Public Library will display Bob Sharen's modern art in many mediums through the end of the month. Meet the artist this Saturday.

The Madison Public Library is pleased to host a month-long exhibit of the art of Bob Sharen through the end of September. The exhibit includes oil paintings, photography and digital imaging.

Bob Sharen’s career began as a traditional artist, doing a 24-year stint as a colorist for Marvel Comics as well as working in oil painting and photography.

When comic books went digital and when his beloved Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic camera broke, he entered the digital age of art and photography, creating book covers, posters and prize-winning digital illustrations. Now semi-retired, he still enjoys creating both abstract and representational works.
