Green Village Road School Meetings Scheduled

Committee meeting Friday to discuss applications, while potential litigation could be discussed at subsequent meetings.

The mayor, three members of the Borough Council and members of the Board of Education are scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. Friday in the Trustees Room of to discuss a contract matter and applications from 15 developers interested in purchasing the Green Village Road School property, according to a meeting notice.

Three more meetings are scheduled in the following weeks, and the agenda for those meetings could include a potential litigation matter, another meeting notice says.

The committee will immediately enter executive session for Friday's meeting. Part of the meeting could be open to the public and formal action may be taken, the clerk's office said.

Then, the committee is scheduled to meet in executive session at 4 p.m. on April 24, April 30 and May 2 in the Trustees Room to discuss the applications and, possibly, potential litigation.

Leading real estate developers are interested in the five-acre Green Village Road School property and Board of Education Vice President Pat Rowe has said.

Committee members met in March to discuss to express interest in redeveloping the Green Village Road School property and show they are qualified.

Officials have said private meetings prevent applicants from gaining a competitive advantage.

NOTICE, that the Mayor and three Members of the Council of the Borough of Madison will join members of the Madison Board of Education at a Special Meeting scheduled for Friday, April 20, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the Trustees Room at the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building, 50 Kings Road, Madison and immediately adjourn to an Executive Session. The Executive Session Agenda will include a Contract Matter. The Mayor and Council Members will meet with members of the Board of Education to discuss receipt of Requests for Qualifications for Interested Developers of the Green Village Road School Property redevelopment plan.

FURTHER NOTICE, that this meeting is open to the public and that formal action may be taken.
