New Council Member To Be Sworn In At Madison Ceremony

Council Member Rachel Ehrlich, and newly elected Tom Haralampoud will be sworn in at Hartley Dodge Memorial on Jan. 6.

MADISON, NJ — The official members of the Madison Borough Council will be sworn in at the Borough of Madison's annual public reorganization meeting, which is scheduled for Jan. 6.

Both Rachel Ehrlich, a recently re-elected Council Member, and Tom Haralampoudis, a newly elected Council Member, will take the oath of office for a three-year term.

Ehrlich will be beginning her second term in office, having completed her first term in 2020.

Haralampoudis, her running mate, has previously served on the Library Board of Trustees, the Housing Authority, the Board of Health, the Environmental Commission, the Recreation Committee and was a co-founder of the Sustainable Madison Advisory Committee.

Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill will administer the oath of office to both Ehrlich and Haralampoudis, and other elected officials from across Morris County, are expected to join in the ceremony as well.

Mayor Conley, along with borough officials, will recognize the service of outgoing Council Member Maureen Byrne, who decided not to seek re-election this year. Byrne served two terms as a Council Member from Jan. 1, 2017, to Dec. 31, 2022, and as Council President in 2021.

The ceremony will be held on Jan. 6, 2023, at 4 p.m. in the Hartley Dodge Memorial Council Chamber, which is located at 50 Kings Road.
