Community members and volunteers from Madison, Chatham and Florham Park were honored Friday for their work with children and improving their towns at the 29th Annual Project Community Pride Recognition Breakfast.

is a 36-year-old agency staffed by licensed therapists who offer clinical services to families from the three participating boroughs.

Project Pride serves about 50 families a month through individual and group therapy, receiving referrals from the towns' police departments and school districts, plus an increasing number of self-referrals, according to an event program.
Award recipients included police officers who have worked with juveniles through the program, as well as active community volunteers for their service and fundraising efforts:

Project Pride President Madison Det./Lt. Jerry Mantone presided over the event.
The agency works closely with local police when children and families are in crisis, and a large number of event attendees were members of law enforcement who support the program, including Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi and Chief of Investigations for the Prosecutor's Office William Schievella. Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen, community leaders and agency supporters from the three boroughs attended the event.
