Police Blotter: Four Charged with Trespassing at Drew

One of the four was also charged with underage possession of alcohol.

On Feb. 20 , police Matthew Mirabella arrested Jacob Checinski, 18 of Fairlawn; Joseph Borzio, 20 of Robbinsville; and Edward Michalak, 19 of Mount Laurel, and charged them with criminal trespassing. Police responded to Drew University to assist Drew Public Safety officers who initially stopped the adults while walking on campus. Police determined that they were trespassing. They were transported to headquarters for processing. After processing they were released pending a court appearance. Police also issued Joseph Borzio a summons for underage possession of alcohol.

On Feb.21, police arrested Allison Schanke, 31 of Milburn, and charged her with driving while under the influence. Police were investigating a motor vehicle crash on Main Street and determined that Schanke was operating one of the vehicles involved in the crash while she was intoxicated. She was then transported to headquarters for processing. After processing she was released to a friend. Schanke was also issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving. 
 
 On Feb. 17, police arrested Lenora Jones, 52 of Dover, on the strength of a $600 warrant. Jones was stopped by New Jersey State Police and after an identification check they determined Jones was wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Madison Municipal Court. She was brought to headquarters for processing. After processing she was taken to Madison Court for a hearing.

The Madison Police Department and Volunteer Corps responded to 20 medical emergencies during last week. The department investigated four motor vehicle crashes during the same period.
