The Madison 5K will take place on Sunday, May 3.

Registration for the Madison 5K Run/Walk/Kids’ Fun Runs is now being accepted.

The 5K, hosted by the Madison Education Foundation (MEF), will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, at Madison High School. Check-in begins at 9 a.m., the event begins at 10 a.m. and kids’ fun runs, for children 10 and under, begin at 11 a.m.

Proceeds from the Madison 5K will benefit the Madison Education Foundation, which awards grants to teachers from kindergarten through 12th grade for “initiatives that energize the creative and academic lives of students, but are above and beyond the school budget,” the MEF said. Since it was founded in 2003, the MEF has awarded nearly $900,000 in grants to Madison public schools.
