MADISON, NJ — After almost seven years of being a local institution, Stryxe abruptly announced that it would be closing at the end of the day on Wednesday.

The local bowling alley closed its doors after its lease was not renewed.

A note on the bowling alley's website thanked their guests and friends for the many years of support and patronage.

"We have truly enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to entertain you and your loved ones and in many cases, host your special life events," the note said.

Stryxe took over the space in 2016 from Plaza Lanes, which closed for renovations, reopening under the name Stryxe and billing itself as a boutique entertainment venue, offering two bars and an eatery in addition to bowling lanes.
