Suspicious Package at BOE Building Just Garbage Bags, Table Cloth

False alarm closed Woodland Road for about two hours Tuesday morning.

A suspicious package found Tuesday morning outside the Board of Education office was a bundle of trash bags wrapped in a plastic table cloth, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.

Morris County First Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Zelante said they found three empty garbage bags wrapped in a plastic table cloth.

The Madison Police Department issued a Nixle alert shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday for "police activity" on Woodland Road and sent a second message shortly before 10 a.m. saying the roadway had cleared.
