Taste Of Madison Event Date Announced By Council

Later this spring, local vendors of fine food and drink will be providing samples of their best products.

MADISON, NJ — Celebrating its 23rd anniversary, the Taste of Madison is a warm and welcoming wintertime extravaganza that benefits several local non-profit causes in Madison, organizers said.

All attendees will be able to sample some of the best dishes prepared by the chefs from thirty of the best restaurants in the area. The event's presenting sponsor, Gary's Wine & Marketplace, will once again serve fine wine, beer and spirits to guests.

The Taste will be held on April 24, at Brooklake Country Club, which is located at 139 Brooklake Road, Florham Park. The event begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m., officials said.

In order to raise money for local non-profit initiatives, the Taste has a silent auction, tricky tray and a 50/50 raffle.

All Taste purveyors of food and drink donate their time, expertise, personnel and provisions to the event.

Starting in early March, the public is welcome to purchase tickets at Gary's Wine & Marketplace, located at, 121 Main Street, or at TasteOfMadisonNJ.org. Tickets must be purchased in advance and will not be sold at the event. Guests must be at least 21 years old. The dress code is business casual.

The Taste of Madison was started in 2002 as a festive community event and winter blues remedy. Since its inception, the Taste of Madison has entertained more than 8,000 guests and raised more than $600,000 in its previous nineteen iterations.

In order to support this regional annual event, the Madison Chamber of Commerce is seeking additional sponsors. Checks for sponsorship can be sent to the Hartley Dodge Memorial, 50 Kings Road, Madison, NJ 07940, made payable to the Taste of Madison.

"We hope that you will be a part of this exciting event," event organizers said.

The Taste of Madison is organized by the Rotary Club of Madison, the Downtown Development Commission, and the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce.

Each of these organizations then uses the proceeds to support charitable activities, improve the downtown business district, and help Madison's merchants and entrepreneurs.
