Weather Update: Flash Flood Watch Effective Until Tuesday Morning
Some storms this afternoon could produce "heavy rain", according to the National Weather Service.

Merely hours after being pounded with heavy rain, New Jersey residents could be in for another bout of showers and thunderstorms on Monday.
Flash flood watches and advisories have been issued for much of the state, including Madison. The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for Madison, effective at noon on Monday through 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected across the region on Monday and are expected to become more numerous this afternoon and this evening, according to the National Weather Service. Weather forecasters say some of the storms could produce excessive “short duration rainfall,” dumping as much as 2 inches of rain in an hour in some areas.

These amounts could cause dangerous roadway flooding and could be amplified by blocked storm drains.

- Monday: Showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 66. Northeast wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Monday Night: Showers and thunderstorms. Low around 59. East wind 5 to 8 mph becoming north in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
- Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 8 a.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 66. Northeast wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Tuesday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. Northeast wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
