14,000 Suspected Fentanyl Pills Found In Car Pulled Over In Mahwah: Prosecutors
Detectives pulled over a car on Route 287 and found 14,000 suspected fentanyl pills, said Bergen County prosecutors.
MAHWAH, NJ — Detectives found 14,000 suspected fentanyl pills in a car they pulled over in Mahwah Sunday night, prosecutors said.
Edgar Holguin-Reyes, 30, and Yakayra Reyes, 27, of Reading, Pa. were arrested for possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl pills, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday.
Prosecutors said that during the course of a narcotics investigation, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force identified a vehicle that was involved with transporting and distributing drugs.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, with help from the Mahwah Police Department, the vehicle was located on Route 287 in Mahwah and pulled over, prosecutors said.
Investigators found the pills inside, with an estimated street value of $420,000, prosecutors said.

Holguin-Reyes and Reyes were taken to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
