250 Fentanyl Pills, Loaded Glock Pistol Seized In Mahwah: Police

A search of a Georgia man's pickup truck in Mahwah revealed the illegal drugs and handgun, police said.

MAHWAH, NJ — A Georgia man was caught with 250 fentanyl pills and a loaded Glock .40 caliber handgun with a 24-round magazine just after midnight Sunday in Mahwah, police Capt. Guido Bussinelli said.

Destin Foster, 37, of Ellenwood, Georgia, was charged after a vehicular search at the merger of Routes 287 and 17 uncovered the illegal drugs and gun, Bussinelli said.

Foster told police that his Ford F-150, which appeared to be disabled in the shoulder of the highway, had run out of gas. A responding officer, noting several inconsistencies in Foster's story and observing signs of criminality, requested a free-air K9 search of the pickup truck, police said.
