4 Kilos Of Cocaine Seized In Bergen County, Man Charged: Prosecutor
A man was charged after he was caught driving four kilograms of cocaine through Bergen County, the prosecutor's office said.
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — A New York taxi driver was arrested on a drug distribution charge after he was caught driving in East Rutherford with four kilograms of cocaine hidden in a secret compartment in his car, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Jose Deleon-Mercedes, 30, of Bronx, was charged with first-degree possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first court appearance, Musella said.
An investigation revealed that he was driving kilogram quantities of the drug through the county. A search of his vehicle revealed the cocaine, and he was arrested on scene, the prosecutor's office said.
