MAHWAH, NJ — They're back. The invasive spotted lanternflies that ruin fruit crops and breed in backyards have been "spotted" around New Jersey, and Mahwah is going to spray them on Tuesday.

Six public places in Mahwah, including parks, will be sprayed Tuesday night, the police announced.

Last month, a pest control said they'd gotten double the calls in 2025 about the creatures as they had gotten during the same time in 2024.
