Bergen County Woman Dies After 9-Mile Police Chase Ends In Crash: AG
Tenafly woman Julie Clark, 26, crashed into a tree in Maryland on New Year's Eve, the Maryland Attorney General confirmed.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A nine-mile police chase ended in tragedy when a Bergen County woman crashed her car into a tree on New Year's Eve, according to authorities.
Julie Clark, 26, of Tenafly, was identified Monday as the driver who died in the Dec. 31 crash on I-95 in Cecil County, Maryland, the state's Attorney General's said in a news release.
The chase began when Clark — seen driving erratically on I-95 about 12:10 p.m. — refused to pull over for Maryland State Trooper Curtis Manuel, officials said.

Manuel pursued Clark until she lost control of the car on an exit ramp near mile marker 108 and crashed into a tree, the Attorney General's office said.
She was pronounced dead on scene.

No other cars were involved, the Attorney General's office said.
