Animal Cruelty Task Force Investigating Horse's Death on Mahwah Farm

The horse got its leg caught in a metal hay feeder, fell in further while attempting to break free and suffered a gash on its neck.

Authorities are conducting an investigation after a horse died on a Ramapo Valley Road farm in Mahwah last Wednesday.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Animal Cruelty Task Force is examining the horse’s death, which came about when the horse got its leg caught in a metal hay feeder and fell in further while attempting to break free, Cliffview Pilot reported.

As a result, the horse suffered a gash on its neck and died from blood loss.
