Animal Planet's Jeff Corwin Shows Off Mahwah Company's Statement Tees
'Groovy Globe' recently celebrated its one-year anniversary by designing a new line.

A Mahwah mom who started a small business last year is expanding it, and she’s doing it by adding new designs to her line-up that she hopes will appeal to an environmentally-conscious audience.
Candace Vadnais started Groovy Globe last year. The online clothing and accessories retailer not only sells organic products, but also donates a portion of its sales to environmentally-friendly charities.
Initially, Vadnais’s t-shirt designs just had Groovy Globe’s name and logo on them. But, this year she is expanding the line-up.

“I wanted to get the company’s message across with our products, so we came up with statement tees,” Vadnais But, they needed to be non-typical, fresh, new words.”
After considering several options, she landed on three sayings for the t-shirts and other apparel and accessories: SUSTAIN (natural resources), PROTECT (the planet), and RENEW (your world.

Vadnais debuted the new products earlier this year at Garden State GreenFest. So far, she says the new designs are getting a lot of attention.
“Jeff Corwin from the Animal Planet was at the festival and he actually really loved my shirts,” she said. “He took one of the ‘Protect’ shirts. And, a lot of people there liked them, too.”
Vadnais sells most of her products online, but is planning on attending several other area green fairs and environmental events to push her new business.
After a year in business, Vadnais said her start-up is going well.
“I am taking it one day at a time,” Vadnais, who works full time as a PR agent, said. “It’s a lot to juggle but I really like our new inventory,” she said.
