Armed Home Invasion In Bergen County Leads To Arrest Of 7: Police

A teacher's aide and bus driver were among a group of seven charged in connection with an armed home invasion in Bergen County, police said.

SADDLE BROOK, NJ — Seven people were recently charged in connection with a June 28 armed home invasion in Saddle Brook following a four-month-long investigation, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

Police identified five suspects, one of whom is a teacher's aide, and then charged two others, one of whom is a bus driver, in relation to items found in a search of a home belonging to one of the defendants, Musella said.

The teacher's aide, Tyra Jones, 23 of Paterson; Jahad Foxworth, 24, of Paterson; Jammer Dixon, 21, of Garfield; Jancarlos Rodriguez, 21, of Elmwood Park; and Lanasia Smith, 22, of Paterson; were identified and arrested without incident, the prosecutor's office said.

The bus driver, Veronica Rivera, 46, of Elmwood Park; and Virgilio Rodriguez, 44, an electrician, also of Elmwood Park, were charged after a search of Virgilio Rodriguez's home and also arrested without incident, the prosecutor's office said.

Jones, Foxworth, Dixon, Jancarlos Rodriguez and Smith were each charged with two counts of first-degree armed robbery, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, second-degree conspiracy to commit armed robbery, second-degree armed burglary, third-degree theft, and fourth-degree aggravated assault by pointing a firearm.

Jones, Jancarlos Rodriguez and Smith were also charged with third-degree fraudulent use of a credit card. Foxworth and Jancarlos Rodriguez were also charged with second- degree certain persons not to possess weapons; Rodriguez was charged with two counts.

In addition, Dixon was charged with third-degree possession of cocaine.

Jancarlos Rodriguez was charged with multiple other offenses including second- degree possession with intent to distribute cocaine, second-degree possession with intent to distribute heroin, third-degree possession with intent to distribute marijuana, third-degree money laundering, and fourth- degree possession of a large capacity magazine.

And Virgilio Rodriguez and Rivera were charged with fourth-degree possession of a large capacity magazine; Rodriguez was charged with two counts.
