Award-Winning Mahwah Historian to Speak at Ramapo Reformed Church
Carol W. Greene, Mahwah Township Historian, will give an overview of her latest book: Images of America: Mahwah.

On Thursday, September 18, Carol W. Greene, Mahwah Township Historian, will give an overview of her latest book: Images of America: Mahwah, published by Arcadia. The lecture will be held at the Ramapo Reformed Church, 100 Island Rd., at 7:30 p.m. This lecture will be followed by a question and answer period by Carol and she will sign books. Books will be available for purchase. Admission is $3, museum members are free; refreshments will be served.
Images of America: Mahwah is a condensed pictorial history of Mahwah; the book contains many old, unusual and rare photos taken from her own collection, from the Museum archives, and loaned by private collectors. Carol is also the author of The Ramapough Chronicles: A 300-Year History of Mahwah, New Jersey and It’s Surrounds, which took 26 years to complete. She received the Bergen County Preservation Commendation Award for the 850-page book. A founding member of the Mahwah Museum, Carol Greene is active in many historical associations within Mahwah and Bergen County, including the Mahwah Historic Preservation Commission and The Hermitage.
On Saturday, September 20, Mahwah Day, the Mahwah Museum will open for the 2014-2015 season and thereafter will be open weekends and Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m. Featured exhibit “Neighborhoods of Mahwah: 1913-2013” has been extended until February; Les Paul in Mahwah continues as a permanent exhibit with the Donald Cooper Railroad, which is open weekends from 1-4 pm. Admission is $5 for non-members, children and members are free. The Old Station Museum and Caboose will close for the season on September 14.
