PARAMUS, NJ — A Paramus social services organization hosted a carnival on Saturday for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a news release said.

Children's Aid and Family Services, through its STRIVE day program, offered activity and entertainment options, including live music, a stilt walker and plate spinner, at the carnival, and nearly 250 people, who live in its community residences, enjoyed the festivities.

“Everyone was so excited about this celebration, especially after enduring the challenges of the pandemic,” Shavonda E. Sumter, the recently appointed agency president and CEO, said. “This was a chance for our clients and their families to get together and have some much-needed fun.”
