Chain-Reaction Crash In Bergen County Leaves Man, Woman, Infant Hospitalized: Police
A chain-reaction-style crash in Fair Lawn left a man, woman and infant hospitalized, police said.
FAIR LAWN, NJ — A chain-reaction-style crash involving multiple vehicles on Monday in Fair Lawn left a man and woman in their 20s and a 1-year-old girl hospitalized, police Sgt. Brian Metzler said.
The crash occurred just after 5 p.m. when a vehicle traveling in the left lane on Route 208 South was approaching Virginia Drive. The driver hit another vehicle from behind that had stopped for traffic, and the second vehicle, driven by the man who was hospitalized, was pushed into the middle lane where it was then hit by a third vehicle, Metzler said.
The second vehicle, a Honda, then careened off the road, hit a traffic sign and came to rest after hitting a concrete wall (the back wall for garages at the complex on Virginia Drive), police said.
