One Dead, Another Hurt In 'Chain Reaction' Crash In Mahwah: Police
A multi-car pileup in Mahwah left the passenger of a mid-size car dead and the driver injured, a state police spokesperson said.
MAHWAH, NJ — A chain of rear-end car crashes Saturday on Interstate 287 in Mahwah left the passenger of a mid-size car dead, New Jersey State Police spokesperson Brandi Slota said.
In the multi-car pileup near milepost 67, a Nissan Maxima traveling northbound struck the rear of a Tesla Model Y, which then rear-ended a Chevrolet SUV, which then hit a Honda Accord ahead.
As the cars began to slow with traffic, the Nissan collided with the Tesla, and the passenger, who was not identified, was fatally injured. The driver of the Nissan also sustained moderate injuries, Slota said.
